In 1996, at 21, Craig Lowndes, threw the motor racing world into a spin. He beat the legends of the touring car circuit -- the Brocks, Johnsons and Perkins to take out the touring car championship of Australia. And after their criticism of his exuberant and aggressive style, victory was particularly sweet. Now Lowndes has a 10-year contract with one of the world's leading motor racing teams and he's off to Europe next year first to drive Formula Three cars and, hopefully, graduate to Formula One.
