The US economy is facing unexpected problems as it struggles to recover from the pandemic-driven downward spiral that led to months of joblessness, the closure of innumerable businesses and supply chain problems. US workers are angry and are striking en masse in what is being called "the Great Resignation."

Southwest Airlines is the latest airline to fail the flying public. After the recent cancellation of more than 2,000 flights, Southwest finally admitted that management failed to connect willing pilots to airplanes and then tried to blame their failure on air-traffic control issues. Captain Dennis Tajer of the Allied Pilots Association shares his analysis. He explains that people are willing to fly but the "deflation of infrastructure" during the pandemic led to their inability to recover. He also explains how the Biden administration's vaccine mandated has exacerbated problems.

The US is seeing a shortage of school-bus drivers. Strikes are hitting various counties as drivers demand higher pay. On average they make $18-35 per hour. Meanwhile, 10,000 John Deere workers are preparing to go on strike. Drivers remain in short supply to move cargo at backed-up ports. Shipping traffic is only expected to increase in demand with the advent of the Holiday Season. Tom Norton of the Michigan Conservative Union shares his insights. Furthermore, 100,000 workers in Hollywood are set to go on strike next Monday in a move that would cripple the film industry. Those striking are the workers involved in behind-the-scenes activity, the vast majority of work involved in film production. Specifically, those employed by Netflix and other examples of "new media," which pays such workers less than their counterparts in traditional cinema. Filmmaker and author Sean Stone joins to discuss.

Mexican law enforcement worked together with drug cartels to kidnap, torture and murder at least 38 of 43 student protesters who went missing in a high-profile case in 2014, according to new evidence. US Army Colonial (ret.) Eric Rojo weighs in. Plus, independent journalist Ashlee Banks joins from Van Horn, Texas near Blue Origin's launch site, where actor William Shatner became the oldest man to ever reach the edge of space on Wednesday.
