The continuing control of rapists: supporting mothers in life after abuse

A charity organisation called MOCRA - 'Mothers of Children Conceived in Rape and Abuse' - has been set up to offer aid and information for women who become pregnant through rape.

It came about because of the experience of its founder, Dr Jessica Taylor, who realised that various things - like applying for a passport for her child - required her to seek 'permission' from her rapist.

Research on women who become pregnant as a result of rape and sexual violence is extremely limited, but now MOCRA has put together a report into the issue to help more women.
