A body has been found stuck between floating barriers on the river, which forms the border between Mexico and the United States.
The state of Texas recently built barriers to stop migrants crossing the Rio Grande.
The Justice department is taking legal action to remove the barriers it describes as 'dangerous' and 'illegal'.
