In a case involving terrorism and secessionist operations in the Kashmir Valley in 2016-17, Yasin Malik, a Kashmiri separatist leader, was sentenced to life imprisonment by a National Investigation Agency (NIA) court. Malik was brought before Additional Sessions Judge Parveen Singh in a high-security environment and given a life sentence and a fine of Rs 10 lakh. The sentencing order will be issued in detail.
