Telangana has started preparing in advance for the upcoming Covid-19 vaccination drive scheduled to start by mid-January next year. The state is expecting to get 1.6 crore doses for a prioritised population of 80 lakh people, with each person getting two doses each. These include health care workers, frontline workers, people above the age of 50 and those below 50 with comorbidities. NDTV's Uma Sudhir spoke to Dr G Srinivas Rao, state's health director, on how the training of human resource and creation of infrastructure is going to take place. "We already have trained healthcare professionals for intramuscular injection. We are retraining field staff and increasing storage and infrastructure to maintain cold chain facilities," Dr Rao said.
