Teaching unions are warning they will strike in the autumn unless their pay better matches inflation.

Deputy General Secretary of National Education Union, Niamh Sweeney, told The Take With Sophy Ridge that a strike is "more likely than it has been in her 20 years in the profession".

The union is asking for an "above inflation" pay rise. It has written a letter to the Education Secretary to say the union will campaign in favour of industrial action unless the government seriously considers its pay demand.
