Tata Steel: Government defends £500m aid package in face of job losses

Business secretary Kemi Badenoch has maintained that the planned £500 million support for Tata Steel will "protect skilled jobs in Wales".

She said it would also grow the UK economy and help ensure a successful UK steel industry.

Thousands of jobs are expected to be lost at Britain's largest steelworks despite a £500 million rescue package.
