Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Palaniswami today asked state authorities to find a permanent solution to continuing massive inundation at several pockets outside Chennai including, Varadarajapuram and Mudichur, after an NDTV ground report. These areas remain flooded for the third day following very high rainfall after Cyclone Nivar. Hundreds of families waded through knee-deep to chest-deep water. For residents of Varadarajapuram, a low-lying area, it’s a repeat of the nightmare they went through in the 2015 floods. Many who had lost their belongings there say nothing has changed in the last five years.
