Taliban's charm offensive: Skepticism lingers over group's rebrand attempt

As the Taliban tries to put on a friendly face, people in Afghanistan are not buying that the terror group has reformed as it claims.

After 20 years of fighting, it is launching a new "charm" offensive, posing for photographs and inviting foreign journalists, including Global News, to show a country it says is safer and free of corruption. But the group is also trying to pitch this friendlier face in an effort to get foreign aid into the country.

But videos shared with Global News appear to show Taliban going door-to-door conducting torture or executions inside homes and as Jeff Semple reports from Kabul, several people in the country believe while the country has changed, the Taliban has not.
