Taliban promised to respect women's rights, but UN says reality 'patchy'

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights has warned the Taliban that the mistreatment of women is a ‘fundamental red line.' Spokesperson Rupert Colville says reports suggest a ‘patchy picture’ where some women are back at work in Afghanistan — but not everywhere.
