Kuno National Park: On September 17, PM Narendra Modi gave the return gift of his birthday to the country. He had released eight cheetahs brought from Namibia on this special day in the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, after three days, all these cheetahs are trying to adapt themselves to the new environment. In such a situation, experts are keeping an eye on them from a scaffold built near the cheetahs' enclosures. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Prakash Kumar Verma told PTI on Tuesday that these five female and three male cheetahs are in the age group of 30 to 66 months and are in good health and are under constant supervision of experts.

Kuno National Park spread over 750 sq km

He said that eight cheetahs named Freddy, Elton, Savannah, Sasha, Oban, Asha, Sibley and Saina are living in six enclosures and they will stay here for a month. Located on the northern side of the Vindhyachal hills, the Kuno National Park is spread over an area of 750 sq km and is named after the Kuno River.
