Taiwan has condemned China for carrying out military exercises around the island.

It follows Nancy Pelosi's visit to the country this week, a move described as "manic, irrational" by the Chinese.

The Taiwanese foreign ministry says multiple missiles were launched by the Chinese military into waters around the northeast and southwest of Taiwan.
