हमारे यहां कहा जाता है- यत्र नार्यस्तु पूज्यंते.. रमंते तत्र देवता। ...मतलब जहां नारी की पूजा होती है वहां देवताओं का वास होता है। ..नारी की पूजा हमेशा होनी चाहिये, लेकिन विशुद्ध मन से...ना कि सियासी भाव से। आज सुबह से यही हो रहा है।...मणिपुर पिछले ढाई महीने से जातीय संघर्ष से जूझ रहा है। ...और अब वहां के थोबल ज़िले में दो कुकी-ज़ोमी समुदाय की महिलाओं को निर्वस्त्र करके उनकी परेड निकाले जाने के एक वीडियो से मामले में नया उबाल आ गया है। ...वीडियो हैवानियत से भरा है, इसलिये हमने तय किया है कि हम ज़ी न्यूज़ के स्क्रीन पर इसे नहीं दिखाएंगे। ...इसके आगे चलते हैं। आज संसद का मॉनसून सत्र शुरू हुआ तो इसके पहले प्रधानमंत्री ने मणिपुर की इस घटना की कड़ी निंदा की। इस घटना को पूरे 140 करोड़ देशवासियों को शर्मसार करने वाला बताया। ...और कहा कि दोषी कोई भी हों, वो बख्शे नहीं जाएंगे। ...प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि वो राजस्थान, छत्तीसगढ़ और मणिपुर...बल्कि सारे राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों से कहेंगे कि क़ानून व्यवस्था को और टाइट करें। प्रधानमंत्री का इतना भर कहना था कि कांग्रेस ने बात पकड़ ली...और पूछा कि आपने मणिपुर के साथ राजस्थान-छत्तीसगढ़ का नाम क्यों लिया?..आरोप लगाया कि प्रधानमंत्री महिला सम्मान पर भी राजनीति कर रहे हैं। ये भी कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री मणिपुर पर अब बोले हैं, जब सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सरकार को लताड़ लगाई है। दरअसल मणिपुर में महिलाओं को निर्वस्त्र करके उनकी परेड कराने के वीडियो पर आज ही सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने संज्ञान लिया था, कुछ कमेंट भी किये थे। विपक्षी दलों ने बयानों की झड़ी लगा दी। इसके बाद मॉनसून सत्र का पहला दिन भी इसी हंगामे में धुल गया। सरकार मणिपुर पर चर्चा के लिये तैयार थी। लेकिन विपक्ष चाहता था कि उसकी शर्तों के मुताबिक चर्चा हो। दोनों सदन कल तक स्थगित हो गये।
सत्ताधारी बीजेपी ने भी विपक्ष पर आरोप लगाया कि उसे महिलाओं की चिंता नहीं है, वो सिर्फ़ हंगामा करके संसद का सत्र बर्बाद करना चाहता है, जैसे पहले करता आया है। बीजेपी ने मणिपुर के वीडियो की टाइमिंग पर भी सवाल उठाया। ...क्योंकि घटना 4 मई की है, जिसपर शिकायत 14 दिन बाद की गई थी। ...इसपर FIR 48 दिन बाद दर्ज हुई...और पहली गिरफ्तारी 78 दिन बाद आज जाकर हुई है। ....ये तस्वीर आप एक बार फिर देख सकते हैं। खुयरेम हेरादास है इस आरोपी का नाम...जिसे आज ही गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

After this, the first day of the monsoon session was also washed away in this ruckus. The government was ready for discussion on Manipur. But the opposition wanted the discussion to be held according to its terms. Both the Houses adjourned till tomorrow.
