बदायूं की जामा मस्जिद को लेकर दावा किया जा रहा है कि ये मस्जिद भी कभी नीलकंठ महादेव का मंदिर थी. दावा किया जा रहा है कि इल्तुतमिश ने ईशान शिव मंदिर को तुड़वाकर उसके ऊपर मस्जिद का निर्माण कराया था. इन्हीं दावों के साथ हिंदू महासभा अगस्त में अदालत गई थी और मांग की थी कि जैसे ज्ञानवापी मस्जिद में सर्वे की इजाजत दी गई थी, वैसे ही जामा मस्जिद शम्सी में भी सर्वे कराया जाए.
