Suryakumar Yadav on Sunday became the first Indian batsman to score 1,000 or more runs in a calendar year. The middle-order batsman achieved the feat during the T20 World Cup 2022 Super 12 match against Zimbabwe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday. He has scored 1026 runs in 28 matches so far in 2022 at an average of 44.60 which is the most by any batsman and has scored one century and six half-centuries.
