The first batch of COVID-19 vaccines is due to arrive in Syria's war-torn northwestern region as part of the World Health Organization's COVAX programme.
The 53,800 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine were sent to the rebel-held region of Idlib, as part of a project to get shots to the world's poorest countries.
