समाजवादी पार्टी के नेता स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य के बदरीनाथ धाम मंदिर पर दिए बयान पर विवाद खड़ा हो गया है. बीजेपी के बाद बसपा सुप्रीमो मायावती ने भी मौर्य के बयान की निंदा की है. हालांकि, विरोध के बाद भी स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य बयान पर नरम पड़ते नजर नहीं आ रहे हैं और उन्होंने इसी मुद्दे पर अब नया बयान दे दिया है.स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य ने रविवार (30 जुलाई) को कहा, ''हर मस्जिद में मंदिर खोजने की परंपरा बीजेपी को भारी पड़ेगी. ऐसा करेंगे तो लोग हर मंदिर में बौद्ध मठ खोजेंगे.'' मौर्य ने कहा कि ऐतिहासिक साक्ष्य, तथ्य और गवाह इसके पुख्ता प्रमाण हैं कि जितने भी हिंदू तीर्थ स्थल हैं, वे बौद्ध मठों के ऊपर बनाए गए हैं. स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य ने कहा, ''8वीं सदी की शुरुआत तक बदरीनाथ बौद्ध मठ था.'' स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य के बदरीनाथ मंदिर को बौद्ध मठ बताने के बाद घमासान छिड़ गया था. उत्तराखंड के सीएम पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने इस पर ऐतराज जताया था. मौर्य ने इसका भी जवाब दिया है. मौर्य का जवाब जानने से पहले सीएम धामी ने क्या कहा, वो जान लेते हैं. मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने कहा था, ''बदरीनाथ धाम पूरी दुनिया के लिए आस्था का केंद्र है. स्वामी प्रसाद मौर्य बयान बहुत दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है. वे जिस गठबंधन के हिस्से हैं, उसमें उनका इस तरह का बयान आना स्वाभाविक ही है.''धामी के बयान पर मौर्य ने कहा, ''सीएम धामी ने कहा है कि हमने उनका भावना का प्रभावित किया है. मैं उत्तराखंड के माननीय मुख्यमंत्री से इतना ही कहना चाहता हूं कि सबकी आस्था महत्व रखती है. आपकी आस्था है तो अन्य धर्मावलंबियों और पंथ के लोगों की भी आस्था है. अगर आपको अपनी आस्था की चिंता है तो आपको दूसरों की आस्था की भी चिंता करनी चाहिए.''
