We might like to think that slavery and sex-trafficking don’t happen in Aotearoa, but disturbingly, they do – and often in plain sight. While a small number of slavery cases have made it to court, it’s thought to be more common than those cases would indicate. Sunday speaks to those who’ve been on the receiving end: shockingly, living as slaves in New Zealand.
