Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, alongside quarterback and game MVP Patrick Mahomes, spoke Monday following their Super Bowl win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Mahomes proved why he is the NFL‘s Most Valuable Player as he shrugged off an ankle injury to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a dramatic 38-35 win over the Eagles on Sunday to claim their second Super Bowl in four years.

Kansas City’s hopes of returning home with the Lombardi trophy looked bleak late in the opening half when Mahomes appeared to re-injure the right ankle that had been a major worry coming into the game.

"When I got tackled it kind of rolled to the outside a little bit. And once you have that high ankle sprain when any little tweak happens it just really magnifies it. Coming into the game I felt way better than the Cincinnati game. Obviously, that happened there - luckily we were able to get into halftime and get some new tape on there and movement to get some mobility back. My offensive line protected me enough where I was able to sit in there and get the throws. So, it was something I was going to play through," Mahomes said.

Before Reid and Mahomes took to the podium, Commissioner Roger Goodall announced that Super Bowl LVIII will be hosted by Las Vegas in the recently opened Allegiant Stadium and marks the first time the city and the state of Nevada will welcome the Super Bowl.
