Rishi Sunak has suffered a rebellion by 60 of his backbenchers this evening over his bill to send asylum seekers to Rwanda.

The rebels included a parliamentary aide and two deputy chairmen of the Conservative Party, who also resigned.
They were trying to amend the bill to block migrants from using international human rights laws to prevent their deportation. They didn't succeed because the opposition joined with the Government to vote down their changes.
