Food inflation is at its worst in four decades, with prices up nearly 10 per cent in the past year - and it is leaving families using up plenty of time and money to make meals.

This has turned some families to meal kits, which they say saves them time in terms of determining things like the amount of ingredients they need or what they are cooking that day.

Anne Gaviola takes a look at how these kits are surging in use, but even if it saves you time, it won't save you money.
