The city of Bengaluru, which had the highest number of active cases during the deadly second wave, is racing to vaccinate a substantial percentage of its population ahead of the third wave. Private participation is playing a big role in the drive. One of the private platforms is ACT Grants - from the start-up ecosystem - which is working with the BBMP on its vaccination drive. ACT Co-Founder, Prashant Prakash told NDTV that ACT started during the first wave as a coalition of start-ups, and the group is confident that over 90% of the city's 99 lakh eligible population will get at least one dose of vaccine by August.
