Police in Spain's Catalonia region say they are hunting for former separatist leader Carles Puigdemont after he returned to Spain for the first time in seven years.
Puigdemont spoke to a crowd of thousands of followers in the regional capital Barcelona. He returned to Spain after spending seven years in exile on the same day that a new Catalan regional government is to be sworn in. Puigdemont's party are not part of the new government. Spain's parliament approved a law to give amnesty to Puigdemont but the Supreme Court says an embezzlement charge against him still stands.
