Police used tear gas and water cannons as protesters rallied near a school in #SouthAfrica's #CapeTown on Friday, as they decried an allegedly racist end of year party recently organised by parents.

Around 2,000 demonstrators from the far-left Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) party gathered near the school as they demanded action be taken over the party, which was reportedly only attended by white teachers and students.
