Dozens of Alberta daycares have protested Ottawa's and the province's $10 per day child care program by closing for the day, leaving parents in the lurch.

In those daycares’ views, it has created an underfunded and restrictive environment.

Every province and territory has agreed to Ottawa’s plan, which was introduced in the federal government’s 2021 budget.
