Separatists in Spain's Catalonia region have suffered a huge setback in Sunday's regional election.
The Socialist Party - which also runs the national government in Madrid - has emerged as the largest party with most of the votes counted.
Catalonia's separatist government held a referendum to break away from Spain in 2017 - but Madrid never recognised the vote.
