Smelling trouble: COVID-19 sniffer dogs detect virus with fast pace, high accuracy

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, the noses of sniffer dogs have been great tools in detecting the virus, with programs already in motion in Bangkok and at the Helsinki Airport.

Now researchers in the United Kingdom working with the specially trained dogs say the canines have correctly identified the virus 94 per cent of the time. And as Crystal Goomansingh reports, the canines can also quickly sniff their way through hundreds of samples per hour.
