In June of 2021, the NCAA lifted its ban on athletes profiting from their name, image, and likeness (NIL) and now athletes are able to make lucrative deals with companies and brands. Critics have highlighted this system as unbalanced because instead of being managed by the NCAA, the NIL rules are decided by state laws which operate using different regulations. Former college football coach Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) is currently working on legislation to regulate name, image, and likeness within the realm of college sports. He joins the Rundown to explain the bipartisan bill he is drafting alongside Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin and why he believes this will create an even playing field for all college players, no matter which school they attend.

Walmart, Best Buy, Ford and HBO Max are just a few of the many companies in the United States who have announced layoffs in the past few weeks. The thriving labor market could be heading in a bad direction with a PwC survey of 722 U.S. executives revealing nearly half of these employers have plans to enact hiring freezes and layoffs. Even as companies plan to reduce overall headcount, some employees are clashing with employers like Apple over return to office protocols. Fox Business Correspondent Madison Alworth joins the Rundown to discuss high labor costs forcing companies to resort to layoffs, recent pushback from major businesses against work from home policies and the phenomenon of ‘quiet-quitting’ in the corporate world.
