The Supreme Court has stayed the dismantling of the aircraft carrier ship INS Virat, which has been removed from the Navy's service. The company named Envitech Marine Consultants Limited had demanded a payment of Rs 100 crore to preserve it as a museum. INS Virat was bought by Shriram Group of Bhavnagar. It is being broken as junk. In 2007, the Indian Navy aircraft carrier 'INS Viraat' was retired.
