SC backs Modi govt over 'ex-gratia decision' for COVID victims

The Centre government states that families of COVID victims cannot be paid compensation of Rs 4 lakh.  The government told the Supreme Court that states cannot afford to pay ₹ 4 lakh to every Covid victim. Explaining their side, Centre said that the Disaster Management Law states that compensation applies only to natural disasters and pandemics would not come under that.  Watch video to know more about the story.
