SATs exams claimed to have left Year 6 students in 'tears'

A flood of complaints have been made by parents and teachers about the Year 6 SATs exams, after claims that a paper left some Year 6 pupils in "tears".

The schools minister, Nick Gibb, said he does not want the tests, which are taken by 10 and 11-year-olds in England, to be "too hard" as that is "not the purpose" of the assessment.
