Paraguay's governing party candidate Santiago Pena has won the presidential election.
He received more than 42 percent of the votes, continuing the dominance of the conservative Colorado Party.
Pena's rival, Efrain Alegre, got nearly 27.5 percent - even though he began with a narrow lead in opinion polls.
