Canadians have faced growing grocery bills, as Russia’s war in Ukraine has caused turmoil on the global commodity markets.

Ukraine supplies nearly half of the world’s sunflower oil exports and with those supplies stalling, it’s sent the cost of other cooking oils skyrocketing.

Making matters worse, another major player in the global market has halted exports of palm oil. And as Dan Spector reports, that could have major consequences in Canada.
