Ukraine says Russia has launched a massive aerial assault on the country. From Saturday evening into Sunday morning, Kyiv says its air defenses destroyed 30 out of 40 cruise missiles as well as dozens of Iranian-made drones.
Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy said an earlier Russian strike hit a blood transfusion center in the eastern Kharkiv region late on Saturday. He shared this photo of the destroyed facility in the town of Kupiansk, saying people had been killed and injured, without giving the number of victims.
The strike came after a Russian oil tanker was hit by a seaborne drone in the black sea. Ukrainian media published video of the attack, although Kyiv has not yet publicly claimed responsibility. Russia's sea rescue agency said no one was injured in the strike and no fuel leaked out.
