U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. defended past statements that have been dubbed racist, anti-Semitic, and unproven conspiracy theories during a testimony at a U.S. House hearing on alleged censorship Thursday.

The allegations follow the release of a video in which Kennedy claimed that COVID-19 may have been a targeted biological attack Black and Caucasian people, and that Chinese and Jewish people are more immune to the virus.

When confronted about his “reckless” comments by Democratic member of Congress Deborah Wasserman Schultz, Kennedy simply claimed the congresswoman was “slandering” him and “misstating" even in the face of his own quotes.

Currently, Kennedy is a polling approximately 15 per cent for the nomination and is a long shot to defeat incumbent U.S. President Joe Biden for the 2024 Democratic nomination.
