After weeks of hinting at it, U.S. House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced on Tuesday he had directed a panel to begin an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

Republicans have been investigating Hunter Biden's business dealings, but have yet to produce hard evidence linking the president's son to Biden or evidence of misconduct by Joe Biden himself.

Sean Previl reports on how McCarthy may be making the move as a maneuver to get more support behind a stopgap bill as the federal government faces a potential shutdown.
