As the first anniversary of the Ukraine war approaches, BBC News’s Russia Editor Steve Rosenberg reflects on reporting the story from Moscow.

Steve says it’s “difficult and tiring” coping with the “parallel reality” created inside Russia by President Putin.

Western journalists are made to feel “like the enemy”, he says – although Steve still enjoys the company of Russian friends.
