Each year, at the 11th hour of the 11th day on the 11th month, Canadians from coast-to-coast take time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of Canada's military veterans, past and present.

Federal officials, dignitaries and veterans commemorating the sacrifices of Canadian war dead and veterans will gather on Thursday at a Remembrance Day ceremony marking the anniversary of the end of the First World War.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will miss the national Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa to attend the ASEAN summit in Cambodia involving countries from across Southeast Asia.
