Former referee Dermot Gallagher has said he was "appalled" by the behaviour of Roma fans after they confronted English referee Anthony Taylor and his family at Budapest Airport following the Italian side's defeat by Sevilla in the Europa League final.

He said: "It's just absolutely appalling. I can't imagine when I refereed at that level ever coming back through an airport and...I would just be horrified if something like that happened. I feel so much for Anthony and his family, he's had such a brilliant season."

Mr Gallagher also said that he hopes an incident like this "never happens again".
