Rebecca Welch will be the first female referee to take charge of a English Football League match. 

The 37-year-old from County Durham will be leading the League Two game between Harrogate Town and Port Vale. It's the highest level yet for a female referee in the men's game.

Football officials say Welch's debut can only promote the recruitment of more women into the game.
