Discussion on the current political and economic situation:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday urged Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif to return to Pakistan to lead the election campaign of the party and become the prime minister for the fourth time.

PM Shehbaz made the appeal during a central general council meeting of the party where the premier was re-elected as the president of the PML-N.The Senate on Friday approved a bill seeking amendments to the Election Act 2017 that would give the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) the authority to announce a date for the general election.

In April, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sikandar Sultan Raja asked parliament to pass legislation by writing separate letters he sent to National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani.
