People across the Americas gazed at the skies on Saturday, hoping to catch a glimpse of a rare phenomenon known as the annular solar eclipse.
The so-called “ring of fire” was visible in parts of the United States, Mexico and many countries across South and Central America, according to NASA.
“It’s one of those great incidents that nature gives us. So I think its something really beautiful, I think (it) is one of those things that you can’t miss," Omar Lopez said, who watched the rare spectacle from Campeche, Mexico.
An annular solar eclipse occurs when the moon’s shadow covers the sun,
leaving its outer edge visible, causing the sun to look like a ring.
