अयोध्या में राम मंदिर में रामलला के प्राणप्रतिष्ठा समारोह में शामिल होने के बाद ऑल इंडिया इमाम ऑर्गनाइजेशन के अध्यक्ष डॉक्टर इमाम उमेर अहमद इल्यासी के खिलाफ फतवा जारी किया गया। इमाम उमेर अहमद इल्यासी ने कहा, 'मुख्य इमाम के रूप में, मुझे श्री राम जन्मभूमि तीर्थ क्षेत्र से निमंत्रण मिला। मैंने दो दिनों तक विचार किया और फिर देश के लिए, सद्भाव के लिए अयोध्या जाने का फैसला किया. फतवा कल जारी हुआ था लेकिन मुझे 22 जनवरी की शाम से धमकी भरे फोन आ रहे थे।'

A fatwa was issued against Dr. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, President of All India Imam Organization, after attending the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi said, 'As the Chief Imam, I received an invitation from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra. I thought for two days and then decided to go to Ayodhya for the sake of harmony and for the country. The fatwa was issued yesterday but I was receiving threatening calls since the evening of 22 January.
