Protesters demanded justice on Sunday, after the shooting of 16-year-old Ralph Yarl, who was a Black teen shot last Thursday night when he mistakenly went to the wrong address to pick up his younger siblings.

According to family members, Yarl had intended to pick up his two siblings at 115th Terrace but had instead gone to 115th Street. When he was outside the door, he rang the doorbell and was shot once in the head and then a second time in his arm when he had fallen to the ground.

Police said the homeowner was taken into custody and placed on a 24-hour hold before being released, pending further investigation.

Yarl was originally reported in life-threatening condition, but he has since been upgraded to stable condition.
