राजस्थान में मुख्य मुकाबला कांग्रेस और बीजेपी के बीच है. 1993 में बीजेपी के सत्ता में आने के बाद से हर पांच साल में यहां सरकार बदलने का रिवाज रहा है. इस दौरान कांग्रेस और बीजेपी की सरकारें ही बनती रही हैं. इसलिए बीजेपी नेता उम्मीद लगाए हैं कि इस बार भी यह रिवाज जारी रहा तो सत्ता की बागडोर बीजेपी के हाथ आएगी. वहीं, कांग्रेस को उम्मीद है कि करीब तीन दशक से चला आ रहा यह रिवाज इस बार बदलेगा.कांग्रेस और बीजेपी दोनों की ओर से कई चुनावी वादे किए गए हैं. कांग्रेस ने सात गारंटियों की घोषणा के साथ ही अशोक गहलोत सरकार के कार्यों, उसकी ओर से चलाई गई योजनाओं और कार्यक्रमों पर जनता का ध्यान खींचने की कोशिश की है. वहीं, बीजेपी ने इस चुनाव के मद्देनजर अपने चुनाव प्रचार अभियान में महिलाओं के खिलाफ अपराध, तुष्टिकरण, भ्रष्टाचार और पेपर लीक जैसे मुद्दों को लेकर गहलोत सरकार को जमकर घेरा है.बीजेपी ने राज्य की सभी सीटों पर उम्मीदवार उतारे हैं, जबकि कांग्रेस ने 2018 की तरह अपने सहयोगी राष्ट्रीय लोक दल (RLD) के लिए एक सीट छोड़ी है. आरएलडी के मौजूदा विधायक सुभाष गर्ग भरतपुर सीट से चुनाव मैदान में हैं.सत्तारूढ़ कांग्रेस के प्रमुख उम्मीदवारों में मुख्यमंत्री अशोक गहलोत, कांग्रेस प्रदेश अध्यक्ष गोविंद सिंह डोटासरा, विधानसभा अध्यक्ष सीपी जोशी, मंत्री शांति धारीवाल, बीडी कल्ला, भंवर सिंह भाटी, सालेह मोहम्मद, ममता भूपेश, प्रताप सिंह खाचरियावास और पूर्व उपमुख्यमंत्री सचिन पायलट आदि शामिल हैं

Major candidates of the ruling Congress include Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress State President Govind Singh Dotasra, Assembly Speaker CP Joshi, Minister Shanti Dhariwal, BD Kalla, Bhanwar Singh Bhati, Saleh Mohammad, Mamta Bhupesh, Pratap Singh Khachariyawas and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot etc. are included.
