It is raining heavily in many parts of the country. According to the data of the Meteorological Department, the rains in most parts of the country in the first eight days of July have compensated for the deficiency in rainfall across the country. Since the arrival of monsoon, so far 243.2 millimeters (mm) of rain has been recorded, which is two per cent more than the normal rainfall of 239.1 mm.In the capital Delhi, the 40-year record of rain in July has been broken. According to the Meteorological Department, Delhi recorded 153 millimeters (mm) of rain in the last 24 hours till 8.30 am on Sunday, which is the highest rainfall in a single day in July since 1982. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said that all schools in the national capital will remain closed on Monday in view of the incessant rains.
The administration in Gurugram has advised corporate offices to ask their employees to work from home for Monday and declare a holiday for schools. According to the India Meteorological Department, due to Western Disturbance and Monsoon winds, there has been torrential rain in North-West India and the first heavy rain of the season in Delhi. Parks, underpasses, markets and hospital complexes in many cities were waterlogged due to heavy rains and roads are facing heavy traffic jams.The IMD also forecast intermittent heavy rains throughout the day in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. There are chances of heavy to very heavy rains in different areas of Jammu and Kashmir till Monday and in East Rajasthan, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Punjab. According to IMD, heavy rains are expected in the region from July 11.Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday spoke to the Lieutenant Governors of Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir and inquired about the situation in the Union Territories in view of incessant rains. Shah also spoke to Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha about the Amarnath Yatra which was postponed due to heavy rains.
देश के कई हिस्सों में जबरदस्त मानसूनी बारिश हो रही है. मौसम विभाग के आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, जुलाई के शुरुआती आठ दिनों में देश के ज्यादातर हिस्सों में हुई बारिश ने देशभर में वर्षा में कमी की भरपाई कर दी है. मानसून के आने के बाद से अब तक 243.2 मिलीमीटर(मिमी) बारिश दर्ज की गई है जो सामान्य रूप से होने वाली वर्षा 239.1 मिमी से दो फीसदी ज्यादा है.

राजधानी दिल्ली में जुलाई में बारिश का 40 साल का रिकॉर्ड टूट गया है. मौसम विभाग के मुताबिक, दिल्ली में रविवार सुबह साढ़े आठ बजे तक पिछले 24 घंटे की अवधि में 153 मिलीमीटर (मिमी) बारिश दर्ज की गई, जो 1982 के बाद से जुलाई में एक दिन में हुई सर्वाधिक बारिश है. दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा है कि लगातार बारिश के मद्देनजर राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के सभी स्कूल सोमवार को बंद रहेंगे.

गुरुग्राम में प्रशासन ने कॉरपोरेट कार्यालयों को अपने कर्मियों से सोमवार के लिए घर से काम कराने और विद्यालयों को छुट्टी की घोषणा करने की सलाह दी है. भारत मौसम विज्ञान विभाग के मुताबिक, पश्चिमी विक्षोभ और मानसूनी हवाओं के कारण उत्तर-पश्चिम भारत में मूसलाधार बारिश और दिल्ली में मौसम की पहली भारी बारिश हुई है. भारी बारिश के कई शहरों के पार्क, अंडरपास, बाजार और अस्पताल परिसरों में जलभराव हो गया और सड़कों पर भारी जाम का सामना करना पड़ रहा है.
