In the press conference, Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, "Other cases have been mentioned while Rahul Gandhi is accused in all of them but has not been convicted in any of them." मोदी सरनेम वाले मानहानि मामले में राहुल गांधी को निचली अदालत से दोषी ठहराए जाने के फैसले को गुजरात हाई कोर्ट ने बरकरार रखा है और कांग्रेस नेता को कोई राहत नहीं दी है. राहुल को लेकर शुक्रवार (7 जुलाई) को आए गुजरात हाई कोर्ट के फैसले के बाद कांग्रेस नेता अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस की है. अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी राहुल गांधी के वकील भी हैं. उन्होंने बताया कि राहुल गांधी के इस मामले में अब सुप्रीम कोर्ट का रुख किया जाएगा. उन्होंने गुजरात हाई कोर्ट के फैसले को निराशाजनक करार दिया है, साथ ही कहा है कि यह अप्रत्याशित फैसला नहीं है.
सिंघवी ने कहा, ''66 दिन बाद फैसला आया है और फैसले की कॉपी दस मिनट बाद जारी हुई है.'' उन्होंने कहा, ''पूर्णेश मोदी की मानहानि कैसे हुई, इसका जवाब नहीं मिला. राहुल गांधी के भाषण में द्वेष कहां है, यह भी साबित नहीं होता है. इसका भी जवाब नहीं मिला कि याचिकाकर्ता को नुकसान क्या हुआ. प्रेस वार्ता में अभिषेक मनु सिंघवी ने कहा, ''अन्य मामलों का जिक्र हुआ है जबकि इन सब में राहुल गांधी अभियुक्त हैं लेकिन किसी में भी दोषी नहीं ठहराए गए हैं. सभी मामलों में शिकायतकर्ता बीजेपी के नेता हैं या जुड़े हुए हैं. यानी यह सब द्वेष की भावना से करवाया गया है. सावरकर का जिक्र किया गया जबकि यह मामला 12 अप्रैल 2023 को दायर हुआ है. राहुल गांधी को निचली अदालत से दोषी ठहराए जाने के एक महीने बाद मानहानि के कानून का दुरुपयोग किया गया है.''
