Sky News has obtained exclusive leaked emails which suggest that the Royal Air Force has "artificially inflated" its diversity numbers to hit government targets for female and ethnic minority recruits.

It's also alleged that RAF recruitment officers were directed to prioritise the placement of women and ethnic minorities on training courses last year.

Armed Forces Minister James Heappey said it's not true that the recruitment of white men was paused - but if there is any evidence of that, then the people responsible would be held to account.
