A proposed settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit against the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF).
The proposed deal worth $150 million would compensate the plaintiffs in a class action suit filed in 2016 against the federal government, alleging a failure to protect racial minorities and aboriginal peoples within the ranks.
If approved, it would apply to current and former CAF members who experienced racism dating back to April 17, 1985.
But as Global’s Heidi Petracek reports, some say the proposed settlement misses the mark.
